vitamin C

A Power Couple

Lemon & Spinach – not only do they taste great together, but when combined, the boost of nutrients is even stronger.

Spinach has a high amount of iron, but it’s plant-based and not easily absorbed by the body. But when you add lemon, its vitamin C changes the molecular structure of the spinach’s iron and ta-da, the iron is more digestible and better absorbed by your body!

My recommendation: saute spinach in garlic and olive oil and finish it off with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Rosehip ice cubes!

The next time you’re looking for an easy way to to give your face a healthy lift, make some rosehip ice cubes! First, brew a pot of strong rose hip tea (packed with vitamin C). Then pour the tea  into an ice tray and let it freeze. When your skin needs some refreshing,  just wrap one of the cubes in a handkerchief (or a tissue will do) and massage it over your face to release nutrients that will perk up skin while countering puffiness.
