Oakley’s eco-friendly shades

Oakley has recently come out with sunglasses that not only look good, but are good to the environment! Bob Burnquist Signature Series Recycled Gascan®  are appropriately named after Bob Burnquist who is best known for his professional skateboarding career, but who also has a true passion for the environment and an altruistic style of living. Burnquist has been a longtime proponent of “green” initiatives and environmental protection. To show their support of Burnquist’s efforts, Oakley has created a pair of eyewear that truly fits the man behind the namesake.

The frame of these eco-friendly shades is made from excess materials produced from the manufacture of other eyewear and the design utilizes 100% certified organic bamboo for the icon accents and the included storage bag. To get even “greener”, Oakley made the packaging for the shades from recycled materials and utilized eco-friendly inks.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of the Bob Burnquist Gascan® sunglasses will go to the Action Sports Environmental Coalition (ASEC), an organization co-founded by Bob in 2001. With the assistance of athletes and companies, ASEC works to educate the public about environmental responsibility and preservation.

Jack Black (not the actor)

Jack Black‘s  PureScience Formulas are a perfect choice for men who want high quality skin care without harmful ingredients. The  full line of PureScience Formulas contain certified organic ingredients, are paraben-free, colorant-free, cruelty-free, vegan, and dermatologist tested. In addition, the packaging of the PureScience line is streamlined to reduce unnecessary packaging materials.

Jack Black’s products look, smell, and work like they are for men. However, ladies will want to try and most likely love the PureScience Formulas as well. For example, the Body Rehab Scrub & Muscle Soak can be equally enjoyed by both men and women. This formula is truly refreshing to the muscles and senses with eucalyptus and rosemary. I have been enjoying this one mostly as an exfoliating and moisturizing scrub, but I could see how it would make an excellent addition to a bath with arnica and epsom salts for aches and pains.

Men should definitely give this line a try. And then the ladies in their life should definitely secretly (or openly) use it too! Jack Black already knows this is often the case so they went ahead and made a section of their website just for the ladies: For Her.

Wine = a stain lifter?

Well if it’s white wine then the answer is ‘yes’! White wine has been said to attack red wine stains better than anything else. Just carefully pour some white wine on a red wine stain, cover with enough salt to absorb the liquid, shake off the salt, blot with some club soda, and throw it in the washer. (A good reason for frequent red wine drinkers to keep some white in the house!)
